1. How would you propose to reduce gang activity and crime in Gastonia?
I would work very closely with the police department and youth bureau to see that we are equipped personnel wise and with knowledge to stay on top of the gang problem.
2. Terms of office have been extended from two to four years for city government, where do you see projects in the city’s urban core (U.S. 321/I-85 entrance, historic downtown business district, Highland neighborhoods, Franklin Avenue and the Loray Mill) in four years?
I hope all of those projects will be a priority. They have been on the table for a long time. We need to address the main core of the city for economic development purposes.”
3. What do you think the most important infrastructure needs are in Gastonia, Gaston County, as the area continues to grow?
We definitely have some water and sewer concerns. We have needs to repair some of our roads. Those will be primary concerns for the next four years.
4. What do you think are the two biggest issues in Gastonia?
To address the areas of our city that have been neglected and deprived for a long period of time. We have to paint a better picture of our total city, especially in those areas that have not received an adequate amount of attention.
