Cherryville City Council, 4 years; Gaston County Board of Education, 8 years, with one as vice chair and one as chair
1. What sets you apart from your opponent in this election?
I have been active for over 40 years working through my church and civics clubs for the betterment of Cherryville, and working to make our city a better place for our grandchildren.
2. What are the two most important issues in Cherryville and how do you plan to address them?
Replacing outdated terra cotta water/sewer lines and increasing water storage capacity, financing it with a bond package. Working with state and federal officials to improve roads — widening Highway 150 and four-laning Highway 279.
3. How would your leadership help Cherryville to prosper over the next term?
I have good relationships with elected officals, having served on the Board of Education eight years and City Council four years. I’d use this experience to work for the betterment of our city and citizens.
