1. How do you expect to handle growth in Mount Holly?

This process has begun. Only one new subdivision (90 homes) has been approved in the last two years that wasn’t already previously approved. We must make the new residential design guidelines law. We must zone areas for future commercial growth.

2. Do you worry about crime in Mount Holly?

Not as much as the other issues facing our city — this is due in part to our excellent, well staffed and trained Police Department. We do need to have computers and cameras in each patrol car.

3. What can the city do to help the downtown area continue to grow?

Hire an economic development coordinator; zone areas just for commercial growth; provide parking for shoppers; possibility of overlay tax district just for downtown business owners and use money to continue to make downtown more appealing; provide connectivity to new Citizens Center and downtown.
