1. How would you propose to reduce gang activity and crime in Gastonia?
- Get involved in schools earlier than we are now to recognize gang-related activities.
- Increase our community policing and stay involved with our judicial process to make sure repeat offenders are recognized.
2. Terms of office have been extended from two to four years for city government, where do you see projects in the city’s urban core (U.S. 321/I-85 entrance, historic downtown business district, Highland neighborhoods, Franklin Avenue and the Loray Mill) in four years?
Most of the City Center will be improved over the years. Development in these areas will push these areas for improvement. As these areas improve, so will the areas surrounding them.
3. What do you think the most important infrastructure needs are in Gastonia, Gaston County, as the area continues to grow?
The water and sewer divisions of our infrastructure will have to be addressed. As growth comes, more strain will be put on these segments. Some of these areas are deteriorating and must be addressed in coming years.
