Keep street crime units on streets longer. Work with police and county law enforcement on the programs they have. Get help from state law makers to pass stronger laws.
2. Terms of office have been extended from two to four years for city government, where do you see projects in the city’s urban core (U.S. 321/I-85 entrance, historic downtown business district, Highland neighborhoods, Franklin Avenue and the Loray Mill) in four years?
Loray Mill in four years will be taking on some development. A big change in downtown, maybe parking, restaurants, entertainment, apartments, hotel. Highland will see housing development and new medical facility.
3. What do you think the most important infrastructure needs are in Gastonia, Gaston County, as the area continues to grow?
The basic needs are water and sewer, roads, curb and gutters. Have property ready for development.
4. What do you think are the two biggest issues in Gastonia?
To keep fund balance stable. Get school bonds passed. Need money for highways.
