1. How would you propose to reduce gang activity and crime in Gastonia?

Lobby our state lawmakers to pass gang legislation. Provide our law enforcement with all the tools they need to stop gang activity. Implement / provide after school programs targeted at the 12 – 18 year olds to keep them off the streets.

2) Terms of office have been extended from two to four years for city government, where do you see projects in the city’s urban core (U.S. 321/I-85 entrance, historic downtown business district, Highland neighborhoods, Franklin Avenue and the Loray Mill) in four years?

I see a more attractive and vibrant 321 entrance to the city. Renovated buildings downtown with thriving businesses. A much safer Highland neighborhood with a grocery store, pharmacy, etc. The Franklin Blvd. Corridor well underway and the Loray Mill partially occupied and under development.

3. What do you think the most important infrastructure needs are in Gastonia, Gaston County, as the area continues to grow?

Countywide water and sewer is much needed to aid in Economic Development for the community. Improved roads and relocating power and communication lines underground.

4. What do you think are the two biggest issues in Gastonia?

There are several and they go hand in hand in improving our city. Crime/Economic Development/ Planned Growth/ Transportation/The Environment/Re-development and Countywide water and sewer.
